You have the right, and the reason to pursue pleasure after trauma
I see you babe.
I see your disconnection, you’re shut down, your withdrawal.
I know pleasure can feel like a distant memory
Like a frustrating, unachievable pressure.
Like something that isn’t for you.
But that isn’t true.
Your pleasure still exists.
Buried beneath the darkness, numbness and even despair
Your trauma waits for a light in the dark.
And that light can be a pleasure.
The active, kind, calm, and safe pursuit of pleasure.
The slowly building trust with your body kind of pleasure
The getting to know your vulva and communicating with them as if they were a friend kind of pleasure
The pleasure of sharing your desires, your heartbreaks and your breakthroughs with community
The pleasure of being held, being guided, but someone who knows, by someone who sees you, your trauma - and knows your pleasure is your birthright.
Self Pleasure is an Art.
And when we are not taught this art,
Or when this art is stolen from us through trauma
We forget how to paint with pleasure
We forget that life is a pallet of paint,
Waiting for us to light up with the many colours of pleasure
Well my love,
It’s time to remember
You have the right to pursue your pleasure
Because of my dedication to all female body experiences of pleasure, it is my honour and excitement to announce that I am now welcoming guest teacher Evelyn Sparks into the Self Pleasure Arts program
Evelyn will be guest lecturing on this 7 week pleasure education as a trauma specialist
We’ve got you,
And you’ve got this, pursue your pleasure - and never look back
