Learning to love yourself…
Believe it or not, I used to hate getting in front of a camera.
I would wither up inside feeling so awkward, out of my body, uncomfortable and overwhelmingly self conscious.
Looking down the barrel of the camera was like torture.
But, as you can see, that has all changed now.
There have been many pieces to the puzzle of being able, not only to bear standing in front of a camera, but to relish in it.
And one of the most potent Self Love practices I attribute to this too, is mirror work.
In the times of the first humans there were no mirrors, there were only reflective stones and at the perfect moment of a still lake - the image of your reflection.
How people truly perceived themselves was through the eyes of others.
Now-a-days with mirrors in most rooms, selfies, profile pictures and curated public albums of our lives (insta / fb etc).
We have become hyper-obsessed with our image, in a way that is distorted through a lens of unattainable perfectionism and comparison.
Mirror work is a practice that counterbalances the relentless need to be perceived in a certain way.
It is an opportunity to truly see yourself for what you truly are:
A manifestation of the divine.
In this week's Youtube I share with you my top 4 processes for falling in love with yourself in front of the mirror.
